Course Description:
We welcome you to today's training, entitled Foundations of Behavioral Health: Partnering to Serve the Mental Health Needs of Children in Child Welfare. It is presented by the California Institute of Behavioral Health Solutions, funded though a contract with the California Department of Health Care Services. This E Learning module gives an overview of California's public children's mental health system.
Course Objective:
  • Develop an understanding about the purpose and role of Mental Health in our community, as well as with foster youth.
  • Learn about the different types of professionals who worth within the mental health system and the types of services they provide.
  • Be exposed to basic mental health terminology as well as learn how mental health is funded and managed.
  • And finally learn about the mental health services available to children and foster youth in particular. These include both evidence-based and trauma-informed practices.
