Virtual Training: Thursday, December 3rd, 10:00am - 12:00pm (PST)

Virtual Training Description

The year 2020 has been filled with reminders of a very dark history in the United States.  The tragic murder of George Floyd not only reopened old wounds, but it paved the way for critical courageous conversations to take place about race, racial identity, and racism.  While these conversations can occur successfully within a clinical setting, they require training and practice.

On December 3rd, the California Institute for Behavioral Health Solutions is hosting Dr. Gloria Morrow who will offer a training to assist behavioral health clinicians and care managers to:

  • Discuss with clients and colleagues “acute racism reactions” and strategies to mitigate their negative impact on the mental, physical, and spiritual well-being of those who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC)

  • Identify how race is used as tool of oppression in 2020
  • Identify strategies for healing from both individual and structural racism

  • Prepare to use tools that help community members of all ethnic racial backgrounds to become allies.
