Who should attend: Local behavioral health board/commission members from all of the regions throughout California.
CIBHS will reimburse travel expenses for one member per local mental/behavioral health board/commission in the region, but more are welcome to attend. Please contact Gerilyn Walcott at gwalcott@cibhs.org to let us know who will be participating from your local Board or Commission.

"Behavioral Health Boards and Commissions101" will be offered on Saturday, morning, 9:30am-11:30am. This training will provide two hours of discussion about the roles and responsibilities of mental/behavioral health board members. Board members will learn about the requirements for Ethics Training and about how to participate in a meeting that conforms to the requirements of the Brown Act.
The second half of the day will be focused on the "Evaluation of Boards and Services " from 12:15 – 2:30pm. First,we will discuss evaluation of your board: the way meetings are conducted, the way your board works and the work that you accomplish. Secondly, we will discuss some aspects of reviewing or evaluating services provided to the clients of your mental/behavioral health board; evaluation of programs,evaluation of facilities, and client satisfaction with services/programs. Board members should come prepared with their questions about board membership and be ready for a great discussion. Lunch will be provided.

Friday, June 21, 2019 - The CA Behavioral Health Planning Council General (CBHPC) Session, and CA Assoc. of Local Mental & Behavioral Health Boards (CALBHB/C) Meeting and Access CA (A Program of NorCAL Mental Health America) Training. These meetings will provide an opportunity to provide stakeholder input, receive updates/reports/advice from state agencies and statewide advocates, and receive MHSA Community Program Planning Training.
