Saturday, March 16, 2019 - Local Mental/Behavioral Health Boards Training: 9:30 am – 2:15 pm (Registration and coffee at 9:00 am)
Who should attend: Local behavioral health board/commission members from the region.
CIBHS will reimburse travel expenses for one member per local mental/behavioral health board/commission in the region, but more are welcome to attend. Please contact Gerilyn Walcott at gwalcott@cibhs.org to let us know who will be participating from your local Board or Commission.
What jurisdictions are considered Bay Area Region: (13 jurisdictions) Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, and City of Berkeley

"Behavioral Health Boards and Commissions 101" will be offered on Saturday, morning, 9:30am-11:30am. This training will provide 2 hours of discussion about the roles and responsibilities of mental/behavioral health board members. Board members will learn about the requirements for Ethics Training and about how to participate in a meeting that conforms to the requirements of the Brown Act.
A training on "Advocacy for Issues" will be presented in the afternoon, from 12:15 - 2:15 pm. Board members will learn how to encourage consumer participation and how to focus on a particular issue of interest in the public arena. Board members should come prepared with their questions about board membership and be ready for a great discussion. Lunch will be provided.

Join CALBHB/C before and after the CIBHS Meeting:
8:15am – 8:45am – CALBHB/C Bay Area Regional Meeting. Discuss regional and statewide mental/behavioral health issues and board/commission needs.
2:30pm – 7:00pm – Community Program Planning –Ensuring stakeholder input. Complimentary Dinner provided by Access CA.
