Description: The purpose of the Fiscal Leadership Institute is to provide in-depth practical training for county behavioral health finance managers and staff state wide that provides current and future leaders with the tools to be able to effectively and efficiently utilize the limited resources available in California to finance high quality county mental health and AOD service delivery systems. This institute will focus on the specialized fiscal needs of counties and will also incorporate current and emerging federal and state fiscal policy topics related to MHSA.
Topics to Include:
¨ Information on how complete and file the Annual Mental Health Cost Report and Annual Revenue and Expenditure Report effectively and on time.
¨ The financial aspects of current and emerging federal and state fiscal policy topics.
¨ Descriptions of the various funding streams and how they can work together to reduce disparities in access to community mental health, SUD and integrated care services.
¨ The impact of the many various funding streams on the delivery of mental health, SUD and dual diagnosis services in small counties.
Wednesday, November 28, 2018 - registration opens at 9:00 am and the meeting starts at 9:30am ending at 5:00pm
Thursday, November 29, 2018 - meeting starts at 9:00am ending at 4:00pm
Registration includes light continental breakfast and lunch on both days.

Who Should Participate: This two-day, biannual institute will provide county behavioral health fiscal leaders with critical information and tools to stay up-to-date on today's rapid changes in healthcare. Participants will hear from experts on behavioral healthcare finance and policy.
This event is only open to county behavioral health (mental health and AOD) staff. We encourage each county to identify the appropriate fiscal staff and to attend as a team. Space is limited, so we encourage counties to register early.
