Description
This is a two-day intensive workshop designed to help professionals assess, diagnosis and develop treatment strategies for clients suffering from Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder, AFRID and EDNOS. The course includes addressing specific psychological and dietary issues as vital aspects of diagnosis and assessment. We will also lookat the impact of Economic and Socio-cultural diversity as it effects the individuals and families during the recovery process. We will also develop specific interventions to address common issues with each of the different disorders.
Learning Objectives
- Participants will be able to make a differential diagnosis by identifying criteria of DSM-V for eating disorders.
- Participants will also be able to develop interventions for treatment with consideration of cultural diversity.
- Participants will be able to evaluate the intensity of a disorder as a precursor to making treatment recommendations.
- Participants will have knowledge of the various therapeutic approaches to the treatment of these disorders. Including couple and family interventions.
- Participants will have a working knowledge of various treatment options available.
