Are you a new HIPAA Privacy Officer or have you been assigned oversight of your organization's Privacy Program? Or maybe you need a refresher on HIPAA? This 3-hour course covers the details of what you need to know to successfully navigate your position.
HIPAA stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. It is a federal law enacted in 1996. HIPAA regulations include the Privacy Rule, Security Rule, and Breach Notification Rule. This webinar will go in-depth on these rules and how they apply to your organization. We will cover setting up and maintaining a HIPAA compliant program and the nuts and bolts of becoming and remaining compliant. Interaction of HIPAA and state law is important to understand, and we will spend time looking at how to assimilate state laws and regulations into your HIPAA program. Understanding Protected Health Information (PHI) is crucial to the success of your program. We will look in detail at what constitutes PHI.
