Day 2-May 13, 2025-9 am to 12 pm
Clinicians are increasingly involved in helping to support clients who are experiencing significant distress, including thoughts of suicide. This workshop is designed to help build and refresh the most important suicide intervention skills and is designed for providers at all levels of care. Workshop participants will learn in this six-hour training the essential components of suicide intervention best practice: recognizing and responding to warning signs, asking directly about suicide, engaging in a conversation about suicidal feelings and thoughts, and creating a collaborative safety plan. Participants will be able to practice intervention skills throughout the training and will also participate in identifying and creating supportive resource materials and self-care plans.
This course satisfies the 6-hour suicide risk assessment and intervention training required under Bill AB 1436 for licensure and renewal for LMFTs, LPCCs, & LCSWs set forth by California Board of Behavioral Licenses.
