& 20, 2024 – 8:30 am to 2:30 pm (PST)
The Basics of Clinical Supervision
course is designed to meet the requirements for the California Board of
Behavioral Sciences 15-hour basic supervision course. This
course is a required training for LMFTs, LCSWs, & LPCCs who are supervising
trainees and associates preparing for licensure in California. (BBS 2022)
This workshop aims to:
- Understand theoretical
frameworks of supervision.
- Learn supervisory skills
to oversee and guide your trainees and associates ensuring high
quality of care and client outcomes.
- Know your legal and
ethical supervisory responsibilities.
- Enhance effective
communication and ability to provide constructive feedback managing
conflict and fostering open and honest discourse in supervision.
- Understand the importance
of cultural humility and issues that address diversity and
inclusion.
- Promote strategies for
self-care and manage burnout.
- Address clinical case
documentation in supervision.
- Engage in identifying and
addressing implicit bias within yourself and supervisees.
- Design a sample
supervision plan that contains specific, measurable, relevant,
achievable, and time-based goals for master’s level clinicians.
- Determine the relevant
and applicable differences between in-person and telehealth
supervision as well as supervision in group, individual, and triadic
supervision modalities and adjust supervision as indicated given the
different contexts.

Course
meets the qualifications for 15 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs,
LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of
Behavioral Sciences; and CIBHS is an approved provider for the California
Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) to sponsor continuing
education for Behavioral health professionals including clinicians,
counselors, and therapists who have a master’s degree in counseling and/or
related field working with children, youth, and their families. CIBHS
maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content.
All
activities in this training are offered for continuing education credit
excluding any breaks. CE Certificates of Completion will be emailed within two
weeks of processing your completed online evaluation.
