CE-CERT is an evidence-informed model created to support the emotional well-being of providers who are exposed to the effects of secondary trauma and burnout. The focus of CE-CERT is to develop skillfulness in learning and practicing a set of behaviors and strategies for sustaining a career in the helping professions.

CE-CERT aims to:

1.    Support experiential engagement.

2.    Reduce rumination.

3.    Improve conscious narrative .

4.    Improve parasympathetic recovery.

5.    Reduce emotional labor.

Are you a provider, clinician, or case manager who is exposed to the effects of secondary trauma and burnout? Do you have a difficult time leaving work behind and find yourself preoccupied with those whom you are trying to help? Move beyond self-care, find ways to make your role more meaningful and satisfying and improve your sense of competency to guide your clients!

Why should you attend?

1.   Establish an evidence-informed framework to acquire, maintain, and utilize skills that address burnout and compassion fatigue.

2.   Derive meaning from your work even when you feel challenged and stuck.

3.   Acquire the skill of self-assessment to evaluate your existing strengths and maintain a clear understanding of the underlying reasons that led you to pursue a career in the healing profession.

4.   Learn how to practice your practice along with your clients.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Provide a brief overview of the CE-CERT (Components for Enhancing Clinician Engagement and Reducing Trauma) model
  2. Address common myths of “self-care” as the remedy to compassion fatigue and work stress
  3. Teach individual strategies to enhance engagement and reduce stress associated with therapy work
