MLDS AT-A-GLANCE
Leaders of public behavioral health agencies in California confront a myriad of pressing challenges, including limited funding, workforce shortages, and the imperative to enhance access to mental health and substance use disorder treatment. The rapidly shifting landscape demands the skills and knowledge to adapt to evolving policies, embrace technology innovations, and foster cultural proficiency.
The Medical Leadership Development Series (MDLS) is designed to empower experienced and emerging leaders by providing strategic insights, innovative solutions, and a collaborative platform to address and surmount these multifaceted challenges. Through MDLS, behavioral health leaders can confidently navigate the complexities of their roles, ensuring the delivery of quality behavioral health services while staying ahead of industry advancements.
MLDS aims to elevate and empower behavioral health leadership using asocial-ecological leadership model and an innovative learning approach that conceptualizes leadership into key skills and competencies across individual, interpersonal, organizational, and local/state/national levels.
