This year's symposium will focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for people receiving behavioral health services.
Each year, this conference brings together behavioral health practitioners, administrators, agencies, funders, and advocates to learn more about effective practices, approaches, and strategies for improving the lives of adults, youth, children, and families receiving behavioral health services. We hope to broaden the range of participation and collaboration with this multi-sector theme. We know that the road to equity and equal access to care is long and filled with a multitude of challenges.
It is crucial that more focus be given to practices developed in collaboration with communities to serve diverse populations more effectively. It's equally crucial that these practices receive the financial, political and justice driven supports needed to ensure their robust uptake and dissemination. Long standing mainstream models of care need to evolve in order to have more impactful DEI processes, strategies and interventions imbedded in them.
