Strengths Model Care Management Workshop

Trainer : Rick Goscha, PhD. Ally Mabry, LMSW, Gayaneh Karapetian, LMFT, MA, Robin Texeira, CHPC

Dates:   September 13, 14, 16, 2021

Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM first two days and 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM on last day

Cost: $600 per participant

Continuing Education: $60 additional fee per participant

The workshop will cover:

  • Overview of the Strengths Model
  • Engaging with people in their recovery journey
  • Using the Strengths Assessment Goal planning
  • Intentional use of naturally-occurring resources
  • Using the Personal Recovery Plan Group Supervision
  • And more

Training Fee includes the following:

  • 12-hours of live virtual training
  • Access to Strengths Model materials and tools
  • Individualized feedback on use of Strengths Model tools

Workshop Overview:
Ready to enhance your care management practice through a strengths-based, recovery-oriented framework? Join us and learn how to use the tools, methods, and inventions of Strengths Model Care Management to increase your effectiveness in engaging and aligning with people in their recovery journey. Strengths Model Care Management is an evidence-based practice that has been demonstrated to be effective in improving life outcomes for people with serious mental illnesses, including those with co-occurring substance use disorders.

Who Should Attend : This workshop is intended for case managers, clinicians, case management supervisors, and peer support workers.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to name at least three, key, recovery-oriented outcomes of high-fidelity Strengths Model Case Management practice with public behavioral health clients.
  • Participants will be able to use the Strengths Assessment tool to record one or more strengths in their most usable form to improve case management services for public behavioral health clients.
  • Participants will be able to write one or more meaningful and important goals based on a Strengths Assessment to improve case management practice with public behavioral health clients.
  • Participants will be able to differentiate between one or more goals verbalized by clients and “active ingredients” that clients hope will be derived from their goals to improve case management services for public behavioral health clients.
  • Participants will be able to use clients’ Personal Recovery Plans to break down goals into one or two measurable steps to help public behavioral health clients progress toward goals that are meaningful and important to them.
  • Participants will be able to name the six steps in a Strengths Model Group Supervision case presentation for promoting a strengths-based lens in public behavioral health care settings.

All activities in this training are offered for continuing education credit excluding any breaks. CE Certificates of Completion will be emailed within two weeks of processing your completed online evaluation.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations for continuing education must be received in writing within 48 hours after the first day of the training to receive a refund. Refunds: All refunds will be subject to a $10.00 administration fee, which will be deducted from all refund checks. In the event the provider cancels the conference, full refunds will be given.

Continuing Education: 10.25 credits

LMFT, LPCC, LEP and/orLCSW Credit: CIBHS is an approved provider for the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) to sponsor continuing education. CIBHS maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content. Course meets the qualifications for 10.25 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LPCCs, LEPs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. (Provider Number 70799). All activities in this training are offered for continuing education credit excluding any breaks.
