Trauma-Informed & Healing-Centered Screening and Assessment

This virtual training will present an overview of Trauma-Informed Screening and Assessment to front-line service providers in behavioral health and child serving settings who want to better understand and work more effectively with individuals that may have been exposed to trauma and may be at risk or present with traumatic stress reactions.
The aim is for participants to become more familiar with the Who, What, Why, When, Where and How of Trauma Screening and Assessment.
Who should receive screening?
What screening and assessment tools are available?
Why is prior planning and preparation necessary when planning to utilize a trauma screening tool?
When is further assessment indicated?
Where can I find trauma screening and assessment tools and resources?
How do I conduct a screening and/or assessment in a trauma informed manner?
This training will be held virtually via Zoom. You will receive the meeting link via email one week prior to the training.
Learning Objectives (LOs):
- Participants will be able to recognize the potential benefits of screening and assessment for trauma exposure and impact.
- Participants will be able to identify a least one tool that could be used for trauma screening if deemed appropriate for their setting.
- Participants will be able to describe at least one element of how to conduct screening and assessment in a trauma-informed manner.
